The evidence file
Build your evidence file before you act
A strong complaint is built on documents, not memory. Preserve these now — even if you hope the problem will resolve itself.

Organise it well
- Keep originals safe. Share copies only; never hand over your only original.
- Date everything. File in date order and note when each promise was made.
- Back it up. One cloud copy, one offline copy. Export chats as text or PDF.
- Get it in writing. Turn every phone promise into an email you can prove.
- Take advice early. Show the file to a qualified lawyer before filing or settling.
Redact before you share
Before you send copies to anyone — including us, a buyer group or a WhatsApp group — cover or blank out:
- PAN and Aadhaar numbers (leave the last four digits at most)
- Bank account and card numbers
- Income-Tax notice identifiers (DIN, document numbers)
- Signatures and home addresses, unless needed
- Other people’s names and phone numbers
